1. Introduction
Qasas ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Nawah Studio. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy applies to the Qasas mobile application and describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Qasas, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
2. Who we are
Nawah Studio is the data controller responsible for your information in connection with Qasas. You can reach us about privacy matters at privacy@nawahstudio.com.
3. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
Account information
When you create an account or sign in — including via Google or Apple sign-in — we collect your name, email address, and basic profile details so we can create your account, secure it, and sync your library across devices.
Usage & analytics
We collect information about how you use Qasas, such as in-app activity, reading history, and the screens you view, so we can understand what works and improve the app. This is collected through Google Analytics for Firebase.
Crash & diagnostics
We collect crash logs, performance data, and basic device information (such as device model and operating system version) through Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose problems and keep the app stable and fast.
4. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and personalise your Qasas experience.
- To create and secure your account and sync your reading across devices.
- To understand usage and improve features, content, and performance.
- To detect, prevent, and fix technical problems and crashes.
- To communicate with you about important updates or support requests.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the app and for the purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or anonymised. In general:
- Account information — kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request (any residual copies in backups are removed within 90 days).
- Usage & analytics — retained for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted or aggregated.
- Crash & diagnostics — retained for up to 90 days.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your account and associated data — contact us at privacy@nawahstudio.com. You can also manage some analytics preferences through your device settings.
9. Children's privacy
Qasas is intended for children, and protecting their privacy is a priority for us. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families policy. We collect only the information reasonably necessary for a child to use the app, and we never require a child to disclose more than is needed to take part in an activity.
We do not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted or behavioural advertising, and we configure our analytics and diagnostics tools for child-directed treatment — including disabling the collection of advertising identifiers. We do not sell children's personal information.
Parental rights
Parents and guardians can, at any time, review the personal information we have collected from their child, request that we delete it, and refuse to allow any further collection or use of that information. To make any of these requests, contact us at privacy@nawahstudio.com.
Accounts in Qasas are created and set up by a parent or guardian — not by the child. During account creation, the parent provides consent for the limited information we collect and remains in control of the account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without this parental involvement, and parents can withdraw their consent at any time by contacting us.
10. International data & governing law
Qasas is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
This policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Qasas after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
